Brodie's first surprise birthday party

Brodie's God-Father's (Scott) birthday is the 27th, so Tuyen planned a surprise birthday party for him on Saturday, the 23rd. The three of us showed up and everyone loved seeing Brodie and were just commenting on how big he's gotten!

When we were hiding, he did really good in the dark! He didn't fuss or cry, he just hung out with the rest of us. We also had party hats and party noise makers-Brodie didn't really like the hat, he kept trying to take it off, and the loved chewing on the noise makers. haha

We had brought our second pack-n-play over to their house that way Brodie could play in there instead of crawling everywhere where it's not so much baby proofed like our home. He LOVED hanging out in that pack-n-play. The boys started playing Rock Band and Brodie would jump up and down and squeal and make all sorts of noises! He loved watching all of them play the drums and guitars.

Also, Brodie had a great time playing with Beamer, Tuyen & Scott's Jack Russell. I brought a lot of Brodie's toys with us and two of the toys were a couple of balls he loves to play with. Beamer's favorite toys are his balls too. While in the playpen, Brodie would hold the balls up to the screen and Beamer would try to get it through the screen! haha It was so funny! Or Brodie would stand up and hold the ball out of the playpen to show Beamer but always bring it close to him. In a way, he was teasing the dog, but the dog wasn't getting mad or anything like that. They were just playing with one another, it was very cute.

Brodie did really well the time we were there. However, close to the end when he was getting tired he was getting pretty cranky. Needless to say, we were home before 10 and once we got home, Brodie was already out. :)

Here's a picture our friend Meg took of Brodie (I wasn't taking pictures because I was too busy playing with Brodie and talking with friends, whoops! haha)

Also, yesterday I noticed Brodie biting weird on his teeth. I figured a couple days ago he was teething because he was biting down weird. When I opened his mouth and put my finger in there, there it was... Brodie's 7th tooth! It's came through! It's on the right side of his two lower teeth. I also think that the 8th tooth is coming through on the other side of this two lower teeth but I couldn't really get a good look at it. He might have all eight of his baby teeth by the time he's one! Oh, and he loves Cheerio's. :)

Baby Gwinner #2...

Monday (1/18/10) we had our very first appointment for Baby Gwinner #2! I was 8 weeks and 3 days on Monday, so today (1/20/10) I am 8 weeks and 5 days. Still a long way to go! haha

It was determined our due date is August 27th. However, the baby will not come on that day. We had Brodie one week exactly before his due date because I was induced-I wanted to be as I was tired of being pregnant. If this baby seems to be as stubborn as Brodie was I will be induced the week before the due date as well. :)

We did get a sonogram-still have to upload it to the computer and upload it to the blog. We have a little nugget baby haha :) The appointment went fine, it wasn't that long ago when I was going through this.

I was telling Ben that for the past two years, from 2008-2010, I've been pregnant for about a year and a half of that! haha Got pregnant with Brodie in August '08 and had him in April of '09. Got pregnant with this baby in December '09 and will have it in August '10. WOW! Next year will be a break-no pregnancies for us!! haha :)

Also, I started taking new medicine last week-the same that I took for the sickness when I was pregnant with Brodie. It has helped me 100%! I am not sick! I don't go to bed sick or wake up sick. The only time I feel a little blah is when I just eat too much, but that's usually with everyone.

Not quite sure when we'll find out the sex of this baby. We found out with Brodie at 14 weeks, but that was a 51% chance that it was a boy haha. We didn't find out for sure for sure until about a month after that. So we'll probably find out for sure-for sure in March? Maybe April.

We're still hoping for a boy! My mom said that because I had bad morning sickness again like I had with Brodie then I'm probably having another boy-I hope, but we'll see! haha Everyone I talk to who has had two kids say that their first and second pregnancies were completely different from the other. HA! Not me! They're pretty much the exact same.

It's going to be crazy when August gets here; it'll never be a dull moment that's for sure! I'm excited to see them grow up together and be best friends. They're going to get into so much together... But, at least they'll have each other around to keep the other entertained! "I'm bored... Go bother your brother!" haha :)

When I get home this evening I'll post the sonogram picture so you all can see our little nugget. :)

Brodie is 9 months old!!

Such a big boy! :) We went to Brodie's 9 month check up today, no shots so that was good! The doctor was SO impressed that Brodie knew patty-cake! We were just talking about what Brodie can do and he just said "patty-cake" and Brodie started doing it! Not saying the words of course, but clapping! Then he kept checking Brodie out and just saying how smart he was! Really made me happy-we must be doing something right, huh?! haha :) He's doing fantastic! He now weighs 21 lbs and 4 oz, is 29" long, and his head circumference is 17 1/2". In his height he is in the 75%, in his weight he's in the 70%, and his head is in the 25%. The nurse said that she sees a dip in percentages when babies are nine months but will go back up.

He's gotten so big. It's so amazing how much he's grown. I was looking at a picture I have at work from Earth Day last year (the day we brought Brodie home), his baptism weekend, and his picture with Santa last month, and it's amazing how much he's changed. Just from month to month he's always changing and developing, and his wheels are always turning. Right now, we are reading "Are you my mother?" and he seems to really enjoy it! He actually sits and listens to me reading it. With some other books he'll get a little antsy. haha

Here are some pictures from Brodie hanging out when we had all that snow! He wasn't too impressed, but he's still young. Someday he'll love it :)

Here are some other pictures of Brodie playing around.

We also have a few videos of Brodie playing and laughing, but I'll have to upload them to the computer and then upload them to the blog. So keep checking back! :)

Big Boy Bath!

We gave Brodie a big boy bath last night! He didn't want to sit in the baby bathtub we put in the regular tub any more. He kept trying to climb out of it! So Ben got into the tub with him and we filled it with a little bit of water and put his bath toys in it (that he got from Nana and Grandpa for Christmas).

He seemed to really enjoy it, playing in the water. He also kept trying to put his face in the water! haha Ben had to keep pulling him back to a sitting position.

It was fun though. :) Usually after bath-time when I'm drying him off and putting his diaper on him, he'll usually fuss because he wants to be naked for awhile afterwards. But last night he didn't really fuss, he just kept doing his "huh, uh, uh" grunts. haha

Our family is growing...

Brodie is going to be a BIG BROTHER! :) We are expecting a new addition to our family, he or she is expected to be here sometime in August 2010. We found out right before New Years.

Our first OB appointment is on the 18th, so we'll find out all the details on the exact "due" date and hopefully get a sonogram of the little nugget. :)

We're VERY excited that Brodie is going to be a big brother and that he'll have a little sibling to play with. They'll only be a year and four months apart, so it'll be nice that they're close in age.

We're hoping for another boy, but the main thing is as long as the baby is healthy. I have already started a baby name list, and I have to be honest-most of the names I've wrote down are boy names haha. Not sure if we'll keep this baby's name a surprise like we did with Brodie's or not. I would like to, but we'll see.

I have been struck down by the morning (all-day) sickness Gods this time around too. Not as bad, but still not good. I do have some nausea medicine, but all it does is make me sleepy. I haven't had it as bad as last time-knock on wood, so the beginning isn't so rough, yet.

I'll keep everyone updated on this blog instead of creating a new one for the second baby. To make it easier of course :)

We're so excited our family is expanding! However, this will be the last time we do this. :) haha
