What a weekend! 7/17-7/19

WOW! What a busy, exciting weekend we endured! :) Brodie got to see where both his mommy and daddy grew up! And he got to meet a lot of family he hasn't got to meet yet, as well as friends. It was a nice weekend, busy, but nice.

We left Kansas City around 7pm and didn't make it to Ellsworth until about 10:30pm or so. After we got to Nana and Grandpa Mark's house, we stayed up a little bit and then Brodie and I went to bed. Friday we went to GG (Great-Grandma Lila) and Great-Grandpa Bill's house so they can meet Brodie! GG held Brodie first, and he started getting just a little fussy so Great-Grandpa Bill took over. He fed Brodie and afterwards Brodie just feel right asleep in Great-Grandpa Bill's arms. It was very cute. After visiting them we went to Salina to see my family. After leaving there we went to our friends the Shaw's house. Brodie got to meet one of Ben's best friends, Brian, and his daughter Sydney. Brian's wife, Jessica, got to meet Brodie in Wichita when we went there for Tuyen & Scott's wedding.

Saturday we went to lunch at Paden's Place in Ellsworth with Nana, Grandpa Mark, Auntie Eden, GG, Great-Grandpa Bill, and Great-Grandma K. Brodie slept most of the time we were there, but when he woke up everyone just wanted to hold him. I passed him to Ben and then he passed him to Great-Grandpa Bill. That afternoon we went and met up with the Pastor who was going to baptize Brodie. He was very nice and laid back. After that we headed to Salina where we hung out at Great-Grandpa Miller's house and then for supper we went to the Shaw's house and had enchiladas. Well, mommy and daddy ate the enchiladas. :) Brodie had fun while we were there! Everyone was passing him around of course!

Sunday was the big day! Brodie got baptized!! I had gotten a cute little suit for him to wear and he looked SO handsome, just like a little man! The baptism went great, he didn't cry or fuss. He jabbered a little but not too much. He didn't even scream or anything when the Pastor put the water on his head. His baptism was the first thing during the service. After it was over, we went back to the first pew to sit back down and enjoy the rest of the service. About half way through, Ben hands Brodie off to me and then I start feeding him. That's when it starts... Brodie starts pooping. He'll usually go for about 5-10 minutes or so, so we just let him finish before we change him. Well, he just goes and goes. Then he starts kicking his legs and moving so I move him from laying on his back to going to sit him up on my other leg. That's when I saw it... POOP all up his back!! I look down at my dress and he left about a half dollar size amount of poop on my dress!! I was just in shock! I turned to Ben and told him he needed to go change him. He then took Brodie and the diaper bag and ran to the bathroom. Meanwhile, the service was going on and the Pastor was speaking. But when Ben and Brodie got up, he paused. Then started up again talking about how the father loves his son. Later on family members were telling us they thought that Ben and Brodie walking out was part of the service! NOPE! haha He had an accident. It happens :)

After the service we had lunch over at GG and Great-Grandpa Bill's house. The backyard was all decorated so nicely for Brodie, balloons, a "Joyous Christening" sign, and little stuffed animals! And there were so many family members there! Brodie got to meet his Great-Great Aunts and some cousins! It was a really nice afternoon. I had a nice little break from holding him too because everyone was just passing him around. Everyone was so excited to meet him and hold him and love on him. It was wonderful!

Our weekend was awesome. We're so glad that everyone got to meet Brodie and witness how good and happy he is! His life is going to be filled with lots and lots of love. We couldn't be more blessed. :)
