Last week on Thursday and Friday (7/23 & 7/24) I didn't go to work as I wasn't feeling well. So Brodie stayed home with me. Well we received bad news on Friday-Brodie's daycare provider was leaving and moving back to Washington on Monday (7/27)! Well, because of the short notice, Auntie Eden & Cousin Shelby came Sunday night through Tuesday afternoon to watch Brodie while we were at work. And Tuesday afternoon through Sunday Nana is watching Brodie. Nana was going to come up this weekend to watch Brodie anyway because Ben and I are going to a wedding.
Well, Friday and Saturday Brodie was being sooo fussy! He was running a low-grade temp and drooling like crazy! Sunday I told Ben "I think Brodie's teething," but when we went to feel his gums we weren't really sure what swollen gums felt like. Well, Monday when Auntie Eden and Shelby were watching him, I text them in the afternoon to see how things were going. Eden responds "Well, we're going to Target to get Brodie a teething ring. We think he's teething" When we were home from work Eden was telling us how all he wanted to be is held while they were running errands and that he would be calm when he was sucking her finger.
I had called my mom to talk to her about it and she said that I started teething when I was three months old. My mom asked me how Brodie was acting and I told her. She goes "yup, he's teething!"
Last night, after we were home from work, Brodie was getting a little fussy but not as much as he was the days prior. Ben rubbed some baby orajel on his gums and could feel his little teeth trying to come through! He felt more than one too! My poor baby! I feel so bad for him, you can just tell how uncomfortable it is for him.
He's three months one week and two days today. He's growing so fast! I hope the teeth come in fast so it gives him some relief, but I've read that teething can be a long process before a tooth really comes in. Keeping my fingers crossed it goes by fast :)

Saturday! (7/18/09)
More from 7/17
What a weekend! 7/17-7/19
WOW! What a busy, exciting weekend we endured! :) Brodie got to see where both his mommy and daddy grew up! And he got to meet a lot of family he hasn't got to meet yet, as well as friends. It was a nice weekend, busy, but nice.
We left Kansas City around 7pm and didn't make it to Ellsworth until about 10:30pm or so. After we got to Nana and Grandpa Mark's house, we stayed up a little bit and then Brodie and I went to bed. Friday we went to GG (Great-Grandma Lila) and Great-Grandpa Bill's house so they can meet Brodie! GG held Brodie first, and he started getting just a little fussy so Great-Grandpa Bill took over. He fed Brodie and afterwards Brodie just feel right asleep in Great-Grandpa Bill's arms. It was very cute. After visiting them we went to Salina to see my family. After leaving there we went to our friends the Shaw's house. Brodie got to meet one of Ben's best friends, Brian, and his daughter Sydney. Brian's wife, Jessica, got to meet Brodie in Wichita when we went there for Tuyen & Scott's wedding.
Saturday we went to lunch at Paden's Place in Ellsworth with Nana, Grandpa Mark, Auntie Eden, GG, Great-Grandpa Bill, and Great-Grandma K. Brodie slept most of the time we were there, but when he woke up everyone just wanted to hold him. I passed him to Ben and then he passed him to Great-Grandpa Bill. That afternoon we went and met up with the Pastor who was going to baptize Brodie. He was very nice and laid back. After that we headed to Salina where we hung out at Great-Grandpa Miller's house and then for supper we went to the Shaw's house and had enchiladas. Well, mommy and daddy ate the enchiladas. :) Brodie had fun while we were there! Everyone was passing him around of course!
Sunday was the big day! Brodie got baptized!! I had gotten a cute little suit for him to wear and he looked SO handsome, just like a little man! The baptism went great, he didn't cry or fuss. He jabbered a little but not too much. He didn't even scream or anything when the Pastor put the water on his head. His baptism was the first thing during the service. After it was over, we went back to the first pew to sit back down and enjoy the rest of the service. About half way through, Ben hands Brodie off to me and then I start feeding him. That's when it starts... Brodie starts pooping. He'll usually go for about 5-10 minutes or so, so we just let him finish before we change him. Well, he just goes and goes. Then he starts kicking his legs and moving so I move him from laying on his back to going to sit him up on my other leg. That's when I saw it... POOP all up his back!! I look down at my dress and he left about a half dollar size amount of poop on my dress!! I was just in shock! I turned to Ben and told him he needed to go change him. He then took Brodie and the diaper bag and ran to the bathroom. Meanwhile, the service was going on and the Pastor was speaking. But when Ben and Brodie got up, he paused. Then started up again talking about how the father loves his son. Later on family members were telling us they thought that Ben and Brodie walking out was part of the service! NOPE! haha He had an accident. It happens :)
After the service we had lunch over at GG and Great-Grandpa Bill's house. The backyard was all decorated so nicely for Brodie, balloons, a "Joyous Christening" sign, and little stuffed animals! And there were so many family members there! Brodie got to meet his Great-Great Aunts and some cousins! It was a really nice afternoon. I had a nice little break from holding him too because everyone was just passing him around. Everyone was so excited to meet him and hold him and love on him. It was wonderful!
Our weekend was awesome. We're so glad that everyone got to meet Brodie and witness how good and happy he is! His life is going to be filled with lots and lots of love. We couldn't be more blessed. :)

Lots happening!
Brodie's getting baptized this Sunday, July 19th, in Ellsworth, KS! The town where his daddy grew up :) We are all very excited! He's going to be able to meet a lot of family members he hasn't met yet, and a couple friends too!
Yesterday Ben took Brodie to the doctor, he's been having a cough that we wanted to get checked out. The doctor said that his cough is fine, he's not sick or anything. They did say he was a little congested and gave us some medicine for that. The doctor also said that his cough may get worse before it gets better, but it's nothing to worry about. While they were there they had to weigh Brodie. He weighs in, as of yesterday, at 14lbs 4oz!! My big boy! :)
We are leaving KC tomorrow after Ben gets off work and will probably get to Ellsworth by 11pm or so. I'm sure Brodie will already be sleeping by the time we get there. But we'll be in Ellsworth all day on Friday, all day Saturday in Salina, and then all day Sunday in Ellsworth until we leave to go back home.
Very busy weekend ahead of us, but very exciting as well! We do have more pictures and videos I need to upload to the blog, after this weekend there will be lots of new pictures on the blog!!
Can't wait to see everyone! Love you all!!

Brodie's 4th of July weekend, 6/3-6/4
This weekend was Brodie's first 4th of July! It was also his first time going out the Botanical Gardens in Overland Park. Although he slept the whole time at the Botanical Gardens, I think he had fun :) We spent the fourth at Tuyen and Scott's, and I'm pretty sure Brodie had fun there too! However, Ben was sick the whole weekend so I'm sure he didn't have as much fun as Brodie and I did. He's getting somewhat better though. Brodie and I have been taking care good of him. :)
Here are some photos from the Botanical Gardens
