Baby #2 appointment

We had an appointment yesterday for baby #2. Baby is doing fine, heart is still beating :) Today we are 16 weeks along. We did get a couple sonograms from yesterday's appointment, one of the baby's hand and the other of the top of the head.

We also found out what baby is. Well, our doctor isn't 100% sure but pretty sure...


He said that the baby is either a girl for sure, or a boy with a really small penis. We're going with girl. :)

So Brodie is going to have a baby sister to watch over and protect. I think he's going to be a great big brother, if we were to have a boy or girl, he'd be great either way.

We will find out 100% on March 23rd at our Level 2 sonogram. However, I'm sure it will be a girl.

We are so excited! Ben is to the moon that he's going to have a Daddy's girl! :) He keeps saying "that's my baby girl in there" :) Makes me so happy and can't stop smiling!

We do have a name picked out; however, I don't want to give it out until she's here. Ben on the other hand thinks differently. Her name has meaning to us and it's very cute! We love it!! I just like there to be SOME surprise for family when she's here, since we've already told what she'll be. :)

Now the fun part begins... Shopping for a whole new wardrobe, crib bedding, toys... Oh how exciting!!! :)

Last week

Well, last week was not a very good week. Brodie caught a virus, had diarrhea which gave him a nasty diaper rash, then he passed it on to me. I was just so sick, throwing up and not able to keep anything down. I was so happy for the week to come and the weekend be over, I don't like being sick especially so sick I can't help take care of my baby!

But, Nana came to the rescue and helped Ben out while I was out. :) It was good seeing her and Brodie spending time with her. I know he had fun. She also brought a bunch of Ben's old toys and Bro had fun going through them. I think his favorite was that weird wooden toy, with the nose that you catch the ring on. haha

Even though it was a rough weekend, it was still good. Glad we got to see Nana and spend time with her, and glad she was able to come up to help take care of us sickies while Ben had to work.

It has begun...

I am starting to feel our little baby kick! It started Sunday evening on our way back home. Ben and I were just talking and Brodie just jabbering in the back.

When we finished talking about whatever it was that we were talking about, I told Ben "I think I just felt the baby kick!" He thought it might be too early, but I felt a couple more and I knew they weren't gas! hah

Then this week, I've been feeling little kicks every now and then. :) Especially today.

Our next appointment is next Thursday, the 11th. Hopefully we'll be able to find out if baby is a boy or a girl. If not, we'll wait until the 23rd. :)

Last weekend of February

February 26th was Ben's birthday! Brodie and I made Daddy a birthday card, which he loved. :) Then that evening after work, the three of us loaded up in the car and drove to Ellsworth for the weekend.

We got to Ellsworth at about 10pm and Brodie was asleep, until we went in Nana & Grandpa's house. haha Then he was up until about 1am!! Just wanting to play and sing. I went to bed early, so Brodie slept with Auntie Eden and Nana (well, played mostly and slept a little).

Saturday Great Grandpa & Grandma Gwinner came over and saw Brodie. They also gave him a little horsey to play with. It rocks and it also has wheels so he can roll around on it. I tried putting him on it but he didn't really want to play with it right then.

After Great Grandpa & Grandma left, Brodie went down for a nap for awhile. When he woke up, I tried changing his diaper and he did not like it! I think that was the first time Grandpa really saw Brodie cry! haha Great Grandpa came back over with Cousin Ashlyn. She was shy around Brodie, but eventually she warmed up to him and started giving him toys to play with. He just kept watching her and just smiling! :)

Then, Brodie and I went to Salina to visit my family. They had prepared us a nice meal-hamburgers, fries, and green beans. Brodie sat on Grandma's lap and she fed him. He ate some, but most of the food went on the floor. He had fun though.

Brodie was having so much fun just crawling around at his Great Grandpa Miller's house! He would go into the kitchen then go back into the living room and then back into the kitchen! haha It was so funny. He wore himself out that night. Fell asleep in Grandma's arms. It was so sweet. Brodie and I stayed the night there and went back to Ellsworth in the morning.

Sunday, I was just exhausted and kinda hurting, so Daddy and Auntie Eden took Brodie to go visit Great Grandma K. After they got back, Grandpa was playing with Brodie for awhile. He was standing up leaning on the coffee table in the living room clacking these two balls together. Then, he leans back and HE STOOD BY HIMSELF!!! TWICE!! I was SO excited!! I was all yelling at Brodie "Brodie, you're standing by yourself, such a big boy!" He just looked at me like "why are you yelling my name mom?!" haha Such a big step for my little boy! :) After playing, Daddy loaded the car and we left to go back home.

Brodie is always good in the car. He just jabbered and sang and made noises until he fell asleep. Once he woke up, he was getting kinda fussy but we gave him a bottle and turned up the radio and he was fine the rest of the time. But when we got home, he was so happy! Him and Vida both were happy to be home. Driving around our neighborhood, Vida would start standing up and looking around getting anxious and Brodie was just jabbering in the back.

A little comparison

I found a picture where I am 14 weeks pregnant with Brodie and I wanted to show you all that picture compared to a current picture of me at 13 weeks 5 days.



Well, the left picture is with Brodie and the right picture is with this baby. Pretty crazy huh? haha :)

More Belly pics :)

Here are a few pictures I took today, two days shy of 14 weeks so 13 weeks and 5 days. I'm definitely showing more so now than I was with Brodie. I've been told that the second time around you start showing earlier.

Oh, and I forgot to say that on the sonogram in the last post, the above picture the baby is looking at you so you can kind of see it's little face :)
