Brodie is so close to being 2, it's crazy!! I really hope the weather is nice so we can have his birthday party outside this year.
He's so independent now. Don't get me wrong, there are still things he needs help with and still needs us. But some things he's doing pretty good on his own.
--Walking down the stairs, he bats my hand away when I try to hold it as we come downstairs. He goes down our mini-stairs without any assistance. He also has no problem going upstairs.
--He sits at the table in a booster seat instead of his high chair now. So Naomi now sits in the high chair when we eat dinner.
--He doesn't want any help brushing his teeth, which he loves to do. I can help him for a couple seconds before he wants to do it on his own.
--He's a daredevil. He has absolutely no fear. The other night, when it was just me and the kids at home, I put Brodie in his room to just relax and calm down. I put Yo Gabba Gabba on for him too. Well, I'm downstairs with Naomi playing around, then all of a sudden Brodie starts screaming and crying. I run upstairs and he's laying on his back, his feet in the bottom drawer of the dresser. As if he was trying to climb the dresser and fell backwards!!! I picked him up and held him and he was fine. There were a couple bruises on his shins from it. It makes me wonder how many times he's tried climbing up his dresser before that time though, where he didn't fail. Perhaps we need to invest in a video camera for the kids' room so we can see everything he does in there when the door is shut! haha
--We haven't really introduced potty training to him. We take him in the bathroom with us sometimes when we go, to show him. He likes to flush the toilet and watch the water go down.
--He's always half jabbering half saying real words. And he'll look at you with such a straight face and say something to you, like you know what he's saying. And what he's saying is very important. haha :)
He's such a silly boy. He knows what he wants and if he doesn't get it be prepared to hear about it, though we are trying to work on that. All in all he is a good boy. He loves his sister and us, and we all love him. He's growing like a weed that's for sure!!
Can't wait till he's 2 and to celebrate that wonderful day he was born. Such an amazing little boy he is. :)
