Baby boy is sick! His nose is runny :( Poor guy, he's having trouble sleeping at night. Ben took him to the doctor yesterday (9/17/09), but they couldn't really do much. They said his lungs sound fine, he doesn't have a fever, his nose is just runny. It's really bad at night, he can hardly breathe through his nose. When we give him a bottle in the middle of the night, he still gets cranky because he can't breathe so we'll take the bottle out of his mouth so he can breathe. When we do that he'll fuss. We suction his nose, but he just hates it. He'll be ok the first couple of times we do it, then after that he'll fight it and cry :( It's so sad seeing your baby sick.
Ben picked him up from the daycare yesterday before taking him to the doctor, and he said that Brodie just had snot running down his face! :( They weighed him at the doctor's; he's weighing in at 17 lbs 8 oz! I don't think they measured him. Brodie's getting big. He's just a good eater.
Besides being sick Brodie is doing good. He LOVES LOVES that baby Einstein that Aunt Jeanette and her kids got for him. We'll put him in it and he'll just jump around and play with all the toys on it. He also likes to play on the floor, on his tummy. We have a couple balls that make noise that he'll play with. He's totally mastered flipping from back to tummy. :)
He's still eating/drinking the rice cereal in his bottles with the formula. Wednesday (9/18), we had a banana at the house. I sliced up half of the banana and then smashed it up and fed some to Brodie. He appeared to like it. He didn't make any faces of disgust or anything! I was just testing to see how it would go, for when we really do start feeding him real baby foods.
Oh, and Brodie had his first real turd Wednesday! haha Ben was so excited! He was changing Brodie's diaper and is all excited "Honey, come look, Brodie pooped!" Yea, he poops so what that's nothing new. But Ben told me to look in the dirty diaper, and there it was a little baby turd. :) haha We think it was because I gave him some banana.
I can't believe Brodie's almost 5 months old! He's half a year, or almost, already! It's so crazy. Time has gone by so fast! Soon I'll be planning his first birthday!! I can't wait to do that. :) He's going to have so much fun and there's so many places we can have it at here. My little boy is growing up too fast. :)
