Sunday wasn't as exciting as Saturday was, and Ben and I mostly cleaned the house.
But, Sunday morning we woke up and I wanted IHop! Ben had been talking about it for a few days and it sounded good. So we went. :)
Luckily we got there when we did because when we left the waiting line was clear outside!!
Here are some pictures of Bro outside while we were waiting on Dad & Nomi
Here are a couple pictures on the way to IHop, Brodie's wearing his Jr. Firefighter hat :)
Here's a picture of Bro while we were waiting for our food at IHop
After getting home from IHop, Ben and I just cleaned house, did laundry, cleaned the cat box, and watched some Chiefs football! :)

Saturday (9/25)
We had a great weekend! Saturday was pretty busy and then Sunday was our relaxing day! Have to break up our weekend post into two, just so much happened on Saturday! ;)
Saturday in downtown Overland Park, just a few blocks from where we live, they were having a fall art festival! Saturday morning at 10am they were having a parade too, and I really wanted to take the kids. I figured at least Brodie would enjoy the parade, get some candy, and just love being outside.
Since we're just a few blocks from where the parade was ending and from the festival itself, we just loaded up the double stroller and walked there! It was really nice! The weather was nice too.
We walked to find a nice shaded spot on the side of the street. Thank goodness we live just down the street, there were people all up and down the street as well as cars packed in parking lots and down side streets!
Before the parade started Brodie was getting a little restless so Ben took him out of the stroller so he could walk around. Then the parade started and we had to put him back in the stroller-which he was not happy about. So we unbuckled him but let him play with the buckles. However, once the parade started he was too intrigued with what was going on than to play with the buckles. :)
After awhile of watching the parade, you could tell Brodie was just getting tired and fussy. So we decided to start walking towards the festivities. It took awhile to get to the area because of all the people!
Here are a couple pictures of the kids while watching the parade:
While at the festival, we walked around a lot seeing what kind of vendors and foods were there. Brodie got a Jr. Firefighter hat and sticker and ate some Chinese food. Ben was walking around with the kids in the stroller and I was off looking at cute little girl things. I found THE cutest KU onesie and wanted to get it for Nomi so bad!! When Ben and the kids came back around I showed Ben and told him I wanted to get it and he said I could! :) It's a 3-6 months and I cannot wait to put Naomi in it!
Also, Saturday was the last day for this huge kid's consignment sale in Olathe-just down the street from Ben's shop. So, I loaded up the kids Saturday afternoon and we headed to the sale. It was also their 1/2 price sale! As we pull up and park, it all of a sudden just starts pouring down rain. So here I am, trying to get the stroller out as fast I could, then load Nomi up and cover her and then load Brodie up. haha, I'm sure I looked ridiculous running around then running to the front with this huge double stroller! haha :)
I got Brodie and Naomi quite a few things! Brodie got a couple sweaters, a pair of jammie's, and seven pairs of pants! He needed some as the ones he had were too small. Naomi got a couple outfits too. Then I found this cute picture for Naomi and just had to get it. And since I got her something that wasn't clothes, had to find Bro something that wasn't clothes too :)
Here are pictures of the kids' non-clothing finds, as well as the bag full of clothes!
Then, after we got home we had to go grocery shopping. So, again, we loaded the kids and off we went. However, it didn't last too long because mid-shopping Brodie started throwing a fit. He just wanted to run around in the store! So, he and I went in the car and waited for Dad and Nom's to check out. Needless to say, we had pizza that night. haha :)
But, here's a couple pictures of Brodie before he started throwing a fit. :)
So that was our Saturday. Pretty fun!! Can't wait for this Saturday! It's the American Royal BBQ this weekend. Yum yum :)

My Mother's Bracelet
My friend is starting a bracelet making business (Mama's Busy Beedz on facebook), and she told me that she had the crystals for Brodie & Naomi's birth months and asked to make me a mother's bracelet! Of course I let her!
I love it so much! It has the kids' names on it and their birth stones. Even when it was just Brodie I wanted a necklace or bracelet that was like this. It's so beautiful!

17 months & 6 weeks update
Brodie is now 17 months old and lil Naomi is 6 weeks! Yup, that means I am back at work!
Brodie is REALLY warming up to his sister SO much more now!! It's SO cute, makes my heart melt! Last night I laid a blanket down on the living room floor and laid Naomi on it and I laid beside her. We were playing with some toys and Brodie was over by Dad on the couch whining-he just woke up from a nap not too happy. So Naomi and I are playing and I look over and Brodie and he's staring at us with a big smile on his face! He eventually comes over and starts playing with us.
Naomi started yelling at the stuffed tiger so I flipped her and she did some tummy time for a little bit. While she was laying on her tummy, Brodie decided to come and sit down beside us! Then he kinda pushed me a little to make room because he wanted to lay down beside sissy, in between her and I. He even laid his head down a couple times like Naomi was. It was SO cute!! But then he'd get up and just sit there and he'd gently touch Naomi's hair and her back. It was very sweet. He really does love her! They're going to be great friends when they're older :)
Anyway, so Brodie is 17 months old! Wow, 7 more months and he'll be 2!! I know these next few months are just going to fly by!! He has two more teeth! So I think that makes the count up to 13? They're both coming in on the bottoms on either side of the four front ones. I noticed one day before yesterday while we were at Target and noticed the other yesterday.
Brodie's still growing and being ornery! haha Not sure if I posted this or not in other posts, but Brodie's still not really liking meats. Like, he'll have a couple bites of whatever meat we eat for dinner but then the rest of the time he'll throw it on the floor. He prefers pastas and grilled cheese sandwiches. He may grow up and be a little vegetarian, and if so that's fine we'll accommodate him :)
When we were at Target the other day, we were looking at Halloween costumes. Well, we were just going around the costumes/accessories and went by the wigs. He pointed to the colored wigs and goes "Gaga!" haha I think he was meaning Lady Gaga, but you never know :) hehe
He's a very smart little boy! He may not be able to really make sentences or words most people can understand, but he definitely understands what you say. I told him the other day while feeding Naomi, to go get his cup. He was throwing a fit because she was having a bottle and I had just put some juice in his sippy cup, so I was telling him to go get his cup. He kinda lolly-gagged for a minute but then ran to the kitchen and ran back with cup in hand! :) He understands :) He's a good kid, when he wants to be! haha
Naomi is 6 weeks old. I forgot how much they change and grow in these short 6 weeks! She's really coming into her own. She likes to stare at you and try to "talk" to you. She definitely has some expressions! She's starting to sleep longer through the night, waking up maybe one or two times. She still doesn't sleep in her crib in the kids' room yet, but she'll sleep in the lamb seat that we got at Brodie's baby shower. Last night I believe we went to bed at 10 and I don't think she got up until about 3:30am for a feeding. Now, she will kind of grunt and grumble while laying in the lamb, but she's not waking up or crying. I think she's just trying to get comfortable :)
She's really growing too! She's starting to fill out more and fit into her 3 month clothes! Not so much the new born ones anymore! Some of them, but I'm so anxious to put her in some of her other outfits... haha :)
Naomi likes to watch Brodie run around and go crazy. I'll be holding her and he'll be playing and I'll see her trying to turn her head to see him. It's so cute! :D She goes back for another doctor appointment at her two months, and she'll get shots then! :( I've seen her cry too much from getting shots/blood drawn, I don't want to see it anymore. Poor baby. She'll be ok though.
Everything is going great though. Baby girl is great, she's not a big crier or has colic or anything like that. Brodie's doing great, he's starting to warm up to his baby sis which makes me happy! Both kids are healthy and happy! :)
And, today is my second day back at work and it is going great! Missing my babies of course, but loving the adult conversations and actually doing work rather than sitting on the couch watching TV. :)

9/16/10
Naomi went with me to my postpartum check up today so I HAD to dress her up to show her off! :) Of course all the front desk ladies and the nurses thought she was just so pretty and sweet!
Even the doctor who delivered her, Dr. Hodes, thought she looked so sweet :)
What can I say, we make adorable babies ;)

5 weeks old!
Naomi is 5 weeks old today! I cannot believe that she's already 5 weeks! I can't believe I already have to go back to work next week! :(
Today, she's really started smiling and not in her sleep!! She smiled when I kissed her cheek this afternoon. And then when Ben was home and fixing dinner, I brought Naomi into the kitchen and he kissed her and she smiled! Baby girl loves kisses :) She's so stinkin' sweet!!
Yesterday Naomi had her first day at daycare, because I hadn't been feeling well. She didn't go back today and won't until go back again until next week. But she did really good! She didn't fuss! Wanda said that they put her in the swing and she slept in it for a couple hours. Wanda also said that she got fed and held yesterday :) I was kind of worried that she'd fuss or throw up or something crazy would happen haha
Naomi's doing great though! Still growing! We're all doing great to be honest. :)
Here is a CUTE picture of Naomi in this navy crochet hat I won off facebook last week!
Here are some more pictures from over Labor Day that Nana sent to me today, enjoy!

One month!!
Naomi has been in our arms for one whole month now! Amazing how time has just flown by! She's grown quite a bit in this first month! She's starting to be awake more often now, well, in longer bursts.
For her first month birthday we went to Lawrence to see some friends and then we went to the Olathe Old Settler's Days. She slept all afternoon. Typical lol :)
Her personality has really shown through too! She's going to be the type of girl to tell you what she thinks-like her mama! Already, when she's all snuggled in a comfy position and you go to move her-for example from your lap to her lamb-she's grunt and grumble like she's not impressed. haha! It's pretty cute though!
It's so amazing that she's been in our lives for a whole month now! My babies are growing WAY too fast!! When we went to Lawrence, we went for a special occasion so we dressed the kids, Naomi in a cute gray dress and headband and Brodie in a nice button down and jeans and his clown fish converse. OMG when Bro was walking around in his little outfit, he just looked so much like a little boy and not even a baby anymore! Kind of made me sad. And now, Naomi's already a month, soon she'll be 6 months than a year, then they'll be off to college. haha Ok, maybe not that fast but still :)
Anyway, Naomi is SUCH a good baby! She only really cries or fusses when she's hungry and when she's hungry she needs to eat right then. Girl loves her food! haha :) She gets up about two - three times in the middle of the night. About 2am, 4-5am, and then sometimes again at 6am or 8am. We're all usually up by 8-8:30am anyway because that's the time Ben needs to get up and Brodie wakes up. But last night, I don't think she woke up at all in the middle of the night! Well, we went to bed pretty late, but still! And we slept in until about 9am!!
Right now, she's asleep in her little lamb sucking on her paci. She's such a sweet little girl, pretty easy so far. Such a little angel. :) Well, perhaps I'm biased but still haha
She goes back to the doctor at two months, so next month. Pretty excited to see how much she's grown from her 3 week appointment to her 2 month appointment!
And I can't wait until Halloween! We don't have their costumes yet, but we know what we're all going to be!! :D Ben's going to be Mario, Brodie's going to be Luigi, I'm going to be Princess Peach, and Naomi is going to be Toadette! We're doing Nintendo theme. Can't wait to post pictures of us in our outfits!!
Can't wait to see everyone again at Thanksgiving!

Labor Day Weekend 2010
This past weekend, Labor Day weekend, we traveled to Salina and Ellsworth to visit family. We had some not so good news about my grandpa and I really wanted to go visit him.
He is doing well, just has lost a lot of weight. He has a doctor's appointment today-a biopsy, on a spot on the lining of his stomach. Though when we saw him, he was doing really well, carrying Brodie and making conversation, in good spirits. :)
Anyway, we left home Saturday morning and traveled back with the babies and dog. I sat in the back all the way to Abilene. We stopped at Russell Stover's and stretched and got some candy. Then I drove the rest of the way to Salina and Ben sat in the passenger seat.
It was actually a surprisingly good trip to Salina! Brodie slept until Topeka or a little after Topeka. And then was awake the rest of the time but was ok, didn't really fuss! Naomi slept the whole way to Salina. I think it helped because it was during the day so Brodie could see outside and watch the other cars go past, etc.
When we stopped in Abilene, Brodie had SO much fun at Russell Stover's! haha, He kept wanting to run around and was smiling at the other people there and pointing at everything. We only had one sample and he didn't really enjoy it. But we did get quite a bit of candy. We let Brodie pick out something by himself, it was one of those mini-Whitman chocolate samplers.
So we went to Salina Saturday and had a lot of fun. My mom got a swing-set and it was in the backyard. Brodie loved it! There aren't baby swings on it, but there is a slide! He loved going down that thing! :) Naomi also got to meet her Great-Grandpa, Grandma, and Great-Uncle Kevin! My mom kept going on about how Naomi is the spitting image of me. Which, I have to admit, made me feel really good since when Brodie was born everyone said he looked just like Ben. :) Mom and I also found some old pictures of me as a baby!
Here are some pictures from the road trip and the day in Salina:
Saturday Evening we left Salina and headed to Ellsworth. Waiting for us was Auntie Eden, Nana, and Grandpa! They were excited to see the kids! :)
Sunday we stayed in Ellsworth and Naomi got to meet her Great-Grandma & Great-Grandpa Gwinner and her Great-Grandma K. They all of course loved her :) They loved visiting with Brodie of course too!
Sunday, Nana, Auntie Eden, and I took Brodie to the park to play. Boy did he have fun! He loved the slides and of course the swing! :) He always has fun at the park. We walked there and back, and when we got back to the house I was so tired! Walking and playing wore me out! haha
Here are some pictures from Naomi meeting her Great-Grandparents and from Bro boy at the park:
