Brodie's Christmas Tree

As I stated in previous posts that I got Brodie his very own Christmas tree for his room. It's a mini-tree. The decorations were from Tuyen & Scott from last year. It sits atop Brodie's dresser.

Two more teeth!

Brodie has two more teeth coming in! His two upper front teeth. The right one is already broke through and the left one is just starting to break through! Maybe by Thanksgiving Day he'll be able to eat all the good eats! haha :) Well, maybe the mashed potatoes.

Today Brodie is 7 months old! He's getting so big! When he stands up, he comes up to my thigh!! He loves getting into things, crawling everywhere and climbing up the couch to stand. He loves standing.

Last weekend Brodie gave us quite the treat. I had gotten up to let the dog out and when I came back in Brodie was standing on the side of his crib saying "babababababa". I got closer to check on him and low and behold my baby was completely naked!! He had taken his POOPY diaper off! Yes, there was poop everywhere, and it was not a solid one either! It was all over his butt, down his legs, on his feet... It was a mess! hahah Funny, but a mess. :) Ben cleaned the crib up and I bathed the babe.

This weekend we are moving into a townhome. The house we were living in before, we are definitely out growing it. In our new home, Brodie will have his own room and have a lot of space to crawl around! I am SO excited to decorate our new home and decorate Brodie's new room. Also, when I was buying Brodie's First Christmas baby ornament, I bought him his own mini-Christmas tree. Last year, his God-Parents got him his own mini-Christmas tree decorations. So this year, we'll be able to use them. I'm going to put the tree in his own room too. After it's all set up I'll post some pictures.

Next week is Thanksgiving and we are so excited! Can't wait to see family and for family to see how much Brodie has grown and developed! One of Brodie's Aunts, Auntie Ashley, hasn't seen Brodie since he was a month old-back in May. Her mind will be blown when she sees him now! :) And Brodie will also be attending his first family reunion on his Grandpa Mark's side. I have to finish his shirt for the reunion! :)

Here's a picture of Brodie's two bottom teeth. The picture is kind of grainy, sorry!! But, you can see them!! We think his upper teeth might be trying to come through too. He also did not enjoy me trying to get the picture of his teeth, haha.

Brodie's Thanksgiving shirt

So instead of buying Brodie a "My First Thanksgiving" outfit, I decided to make one for him. He assisted me in making the turkey's, that's why it may seem a little smeared. :)

One turkey was made with his hand and the other turkey was made with his foot. He wanted so badly to play in the paint, but he did not enjoy having it being cleaned off him.

Brodie is standing!

Yesterday while I was at work, Ben was home with Brodie. He messaged me telling me that Brodie just crawled up to the ottoman, climbed up it, and stood (with the support of the ottoman of course)!!

When I got home he did it twice!! One of the times he was trying to get my dinner! haha :) Hopefully this means that he'll be walking soon!

A couple of updates...

Brodie's second tooth has broken the skin!! He has TWO teeth now! They're both on the bottom, in the middle. He's handling it pretty well. Not too fussy.

He's also found a new syllable/word, "dada". He's said "mama" a few times, but now that he's learned "dada," he won't quit saying it! haha He says it for everything. He'll be laying on the floor playing with his remote and he'll just start going, "dadadadadadadada..." haha it's soo cute! :) I'll have to upload a couple videos.

Also, today (11/1/09) we saw Brodie's first real tears!! It was SO sad! He was playing with his remote, and it slipped out of his hands and fell on his little head :( My poor baby. But, within like 15 seconds he was back to smiling. He's a little trooper.

We've also given Brodie a couple of different baby foods, they're meat & either veggies or fruit. Kind of weird, but gives him a taste for meat I guess. He's tried chicken & apples and turkey & sweet potatoes.

Oh, after his bath today, I was able to put his hair in a little mohawk! It's finally long enough! haha Just the top of the hair, not all of it. But it's pretty cute! :)

Happy Halloween 2009!

Brodie had a great first Halloween!! We dressed him up and Vida up. Vida, in case you can't tell, is Yoda. Chewbacca & Yoda, a perfect match! :) I took green food coloring and colored Vida's face, then I took one of Brodie's bibs and put it around her, and then with pipe cleaners made her belt & light saber. It was awesome!!

We went to the Legends' Halloween event. We walked around in the parade! Everyone loved Brodie & Vida's costumes together. When we were leaving, a lady and her granddaughter stopped us asking to pet Vida-she said she'd been chasing us for awhile haha. Then we went to trick-or-treat at our friend Maria's house. She loved their costumes too!

Brodie didn't get much candy, but that's ok-it's not like he could eat it anyway :) But I'm sure he had fun! Can't wait till next year when he can walk on his own!! I already have next year's costume picked out! :)
